Local Charity Wins National Award

On September 23, 2022, Dream Factory of the Jersey Shore (DFJS) was awarded the “Most Unusual Dream Award” at the National Dream Factory Convention in Orlando, Florida. Twenty-three chapters from all over the country attended this yearly event.

The award was given for “Andrew’s Dream”. Andrew was granted his dream this past year. It turned out that Andrew and his favorite wrestler, Roman Reigns, was battling leukemia at the same time. The DFJS not only sent Andrew and his family to WrestleMania but brought a personal video to the Dream Reveal Party from Reigns, himself. The video was Reigns inviting Andrew, his parents, and his 4-year-old brother to WrestleMania 38. He also told him that he would be in Dallas to acknowledge Andrew, and that is just what he did.

“All of the children’s’ dreams are unique, but what made this so unusual was the fact that this celebrity wrestler took the time to make Andrew’s dream more personal and touching. We were very impressed by his sincerity and compassion towards our dream child.”, expressed Luanne Wood, DFJS Director.

The DFJS is an all-volunteer charity that grants dreams for critically and chronically ill children between the ages of 3-18. The DFJS meet the second Wednesday evening of the month, at Allaire Care, 1979 Highway 34 in Wall. For more information, visit their website at
